First Things First, Make This Text More ReadableWith most browsers: depress "Crtl" key with the "+" key several times to make text larger. ("Ctrl" & "-" = smaller text size.) If that doesn't work, use the "View" menu.
To get the most out of this siteTo get the most out of this site Internet Explorer users may need to set their browsers to "Allow Blocked Content" [which has nothing to do with allowing porn or other objectionable material]. The geniuses at Microsoft have decided that Internet Explorer, which they put on your Windows computer whether you want it or not, by default blocks scripting languages like javascript which are used to animate and increase the interactivity of web sites. By default it also blocks scripts used by CDs and DVDs, limiting their playability by Windows Media Player! Again, monopoly geniuses at work!
This is their explanation:What is active content and why does Internet Explorer restrict it?
What to do?First, determine whether or not you are using Internet Explorer. If you are using a Windows computer and you don't know, then odds are that's what you are using. A browser is an application for translating code posted on the worldwide web into graphic presentations on your desktop. Savvy users install alternative browsers and know what they are.Verizon,
Yahoo, Google and other communications monopolies disguise IE with their logos and advertising.
To find out the true identity of your browser, go to the Help menu and click on About.
IE by any other name is still Internet Explorer. |

How to "Allow Blocked Content"You can temporarily "allow blocked content" for this site by right-clicking on the information bar just above the browser pane and below the menu bar, if you can see it [the background colors on my site obscure it on some systems]. Select "Allow Blocked Content." A better solution is to permanently "Allow blocked content." While there are some risks, especially if you visit sites of ill-repute, I'd advise using this setting [always run an up-to-date anti-virus and anti-spyware program like Trend Micro or Norton].

Foresake IE, Use a Better BrowserMy long-term advice is: install a better browser. The best one is Mozilla Firefox, which is free, and compared with IE is more hassle-free and more secure. It has a solid track record. I've been using it for years. Release 3.0 appears to load much faster. For those requiring client-side File Transfer Protocol, FireFTP, a solid, free FTP add-on, is now available. Click on the Firefox logo on the right to download and install Firefox now. | ![]()

| I also highly recommend Apple's Safari browser for either Windows or Mac. With the Safari 3.1.2 release (July 2008), Apple appears to have solved some issues with color handling and compatibility with javascript that plagued earlier editions. It has a very attractive interface, and it's blistering fast! Get it bundled with iTunes, an excellent application for handling your audio needs. |
