The world coming alive is the theme for March. To capture this idea, I broke out my high-powered macro lens recording the first signs of life. I was so taken with the close up shots of bees among the cherry blossoms, shot on the last day of the month, I've included several photos from that session. Despite the power of the lens, to get the shots of the bees I had to get very close, a fraction of an inch in some cases. They were so focused on their mission, they mostly ignored me and the camera.

The narrow depth-of-field produced by the macro lens helps generate a sense of new life popping out everywhere. Blurred backgrounds produced beautiful pastels.
